Techniques de design de présentation

This program trains presentation designers to design, plan and create special spaces or environments (showcases, displays, exhibition booths, event decors, etc.) in order to showcase objects or promote products, services or ideas in a commercial or cultural context.

About the program

This program trains individuals to become display designers.

These individuals design, plan and arrange spaces and environments (window displays, shelving, exhibition stands, event decor, etc.) intended to showcase objects or promote products, services or ideas in commercial or cultural settings.

These designers create concepts for clients while ensuring they respect established objectives, the content to be showcased, budget and allocated space. They decide on technical and artistic aspects of the project — for example, how products are to be arranged in terms of volume and size and what particular colour palette, materials and lighting are to be used. Designers are responsible for doing any of construction or building work required, or for supervising such work to ensure it respects the plans and quotes approved by the client.

Display designers can be self-employed or work in a variety of different settings: department stores or boutiques; companies specialized in store displays; manufacturers of decorative accessories; companies specialized in the design of exhibition stands; event organizing companies; production companies (movies and television); magazine publishing companies; public or private organizations; advertising agencies; museums or other businesses involved in the advertising or presentation of commercial or cultural products or services.
