Early Childhood Education

Are you an adult who, throughout the years, has acquired skills and knowledge in the field of Early Childhood Education without having completed an Attestation of College Studies ACS/AEC in the discipline?

About the program

Through the RAC evaluation process, you have the opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge gained in the field of ECE through formal, informal, and non-formal workplace and life experiences to obtain recognition for these competencies. A competency is a set of skills, knowledge, and behaviour that enables a person to perform a specific role or function.

The time needed to complete the RAC evaluation process in ECE will vary from person to person depending on how many of the competencies found in the ACS/AEC program are being assessed. Persons must be available to meet with our RAC content specialists on occasional evenings and/or weekends, and can continue to work full-time throughout the process.

The most important RAC admission step is the Validation Interview, done by a Content Specialist. This is what determines the significant amount of experience.

Condition of admission

To be admitted in a RAC process, you have to meet the admission requirements of the CEGEP you are applying to.

The admission conditions and the inscription procedures may differ from a CEGEP to another.

You should be ready to provide legal documents such as: a birth certificate, a proof of education (high school or cegep diploma, etc), some grade sheets, a comparative evaluation or a foreign degree, a resume, etc.

As for individuals born outside of Canada, you will have to provide a proof of citizenship or permanent residency.

Furthermore, please note that the main steps pursued as part of the process are the same for everybody et always start by an information session, alone or in groups. This information session is provided by the CEGEP.
