Basic Design in Building Mechanics
About the program
Laboratories specializing in ventilation, air conditioning, regulation, heating and refrigeration will provide hands-on learning. On completion of your course, you will be able to: - Analyze fluid transport conditions in building mechanics - Briefly interpret plans and specifications - Establish links between plumbing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems and how they operate - Establish links between mechanical systems and their supervisory bodies - Carry out the basic engineering design of plumbing, heating, ventilation, refrigeration, electrical and air conditioning systems - Perform simple calculations of a building’s heat loads The strong performance of the construction industry and emerging values related to building automation, energy savings, indoor air quality and comfort are putting pressure on the demand for qualified building services workers. Employment prospects are favourable for a number of years to come. This course will allow you to work for contractors, manufacturers, wholesalers and distributors, consulting engineering firms or managers of public and private buildings. |
